The Pensions Regulator is the UK regulator of work-based pension schemes.
A work-based pension is any pension - including occupational, personal and stakeholder - that your employer makes available to you.
As the regulator, our aim is to encourage high standards in the way pension schemes are run. This is the best way to prevent problems from developing - problems which could put your pension benefits at risk.
We work with pension scheme trustees and scheme managers (and with your employer) to help protect your pension. If problems do develop, we have powers to put matters right.
